Last night my friend Stef and I went out for dinner and then to see a couple of bands. We had pizza at Good Life Pizza at Glenelg - I've wanted to go there for a while now and was pleased that I finally got around to it. The pizza and the service were both wonderful. What could be better than guilt free (because, not only is it organic, the restaurant is carbon neutral) pizza?
Outfit details: 1940s/50s hat - The Way We Wear Fair; cardigan - Target; gloves - Salvo's; belt - The Way We Wear Fair; skirt - Harris Scarfe; stockings - Voodoo Killer Legs Vintage Stockings; shoes - Rubi Shoes; jacket - op-shopped; faux fur stole - Dangerfield.
I've only ever worn that cardigan once before - a couple of years ago - but I decided that I should bring it out again and that a rockabilly gig was a great time to do so!
I took my hat off at dinner and boy am I glad I did! We went to see The Hoodoo Voodoo Dolls and The Satellites at the Semaphore Worker's Club and it was packed. When The Satellites were playing I kept getting hit in the head with one woman's video camera so I'm sure it would have been a lot worse with the hat on. Anyway, both bands were fantastic. I hadn't seen The Hoodoo Voodoo Dolls before but I was rather impressed with them. I was also impressed by some of the dancing going on! I had seen The Satellites before (a few times) but they never disappoint - they're definitely my favourite Adelaide band. I took some rather bad photos of them...

Wishing everyone a fab weekend!

ReplyDeleteAgreed, that hat rules. You've balanced it with the rest of the outfit really well too.
ReplyDeleteThe bands sound great! I don't get to see nearly as much live music as I used to, but that's definitely an aim for summer. Have you heard the Macarburettors from Perth? Look them up, I think you'd like them...
