Overture Outfit

Firstly, thanks to everyone for the congratulatory comments left on my last post! Secondly, last night was the opening night of the first graduate exhibition - both of which are called Overture -for the visual art students at AC Arts TAFE. My work is in the second exhibition but I still attended as many of my friends had work in this show. I took the opportunity to wear the dress my mum just finished making for me -

Outfit details: dress - made by my mother; stockings - Love Kylie; shoes - KMart.

I was also super proud of my hair (and got loads of compliments on both it and my dress) - I'm much happier with this attempt at the Betty Grable look than the first time I tried it out. A few people asked me how I was going to top my outfit for my own exhibition opening and I said I was on the look-out for the perfect dress. Well, today I found it but I won't say anything more than 'pink'. You shall have to wait to see it!

After the opening, my friend Simon and I wandered down to the casino to take a gander at Lucky Seven but we were too tired to stay for long. Simon left a little before me and, whilst I was waiting to be picked up, I had a little chat with the singer of Lucky Seven about what I do during the day and wearing vintage styles.

I am currently exhausted (the result of walking about town in heels for the past few days, lots of shopping and two hours of dance classes on Tuesday night) and taking the time to lounge about in my 1960s brunch coat and a 1960s floral slip.

The soundtrack to my life at the moment has been Fats Waller, for no other reason than his music is incredibly beautiful and seems to go along very well with the gorgeous weather we've been having.
