Swingin' on a Wednesday Night

Hello all! Firstly, I'd like to thank everyone for their suggestions on my last post - a few of you seemed pretty keen on a hair tutorial so I think I shall try my hand at that.

Anyway, last night my friend Stef and I toddled off to Skycity Adelaide (Casino) to see Lucky Seven, 'Adelaide's Hottest Swing Band'. They were amazing! I highly recommend anyone who might be out and about in Adelaide (I know at least two Adelaideans read this!) to check them out or, at least, take a look at their Myspace page. The Swingsesh dancers were also there for some social dancing (of which I did not partake) and free introductory dance lessons.

Despite remaining in our seats for the whole night we had a jolly good time and I sang along to almost every song, which did not go unnoticed by the singer who introduced himself to me at the bar and said I should feel free to join them onstage whenever I wished to. I told him that just because I knew the words it didn't mean I was singing in tune. He was very lovely, though, and appreciative, too, which always makes watching a band more enjoyable I think.

My outfit for the evening's activities -
Outfit details: Faux pearls - Hero vintage; dress - Hype and Seek; belt - The Way We Wear Fair; stockings - stockingshq.com; shoes - Rubi Shoes.

And some photographic evidence that I do have friends (well, this shows that I have at least one) -
I also got Stef to snap a picture of me holding the print I won from Sunny Buick (which arrived yesterday).
I can't tell you all how excited I am to have this print. Once again, I urge everyone to take a look at Sunny's work. You can find her blog here, and her etsy shop here. I'm going down to IKEA next week to get a frame for it so I can hang it up.

Today I went into town for a spot of job-hunting but ended up doing more shopping. Oh well.

Outfit details: cardigan - Cotton On; blouse - Cotton On; skirt - vintage, Salvo's; stockings - stockingshq.com; shoes - Big W. The only difference in the second picture is the new cardigan I picked up today, from Dangerfield, (by Revival) - it looks like a letterman sweater and has an 'R' on it so, even though I know the 'R' is for 'Revival' I'm going to pretend it's for 'Rydell'. Ra! Ra! Ra!

Love,
