Last night I went to see a tribute show to Loretta Lynn with my mum. It was really good! I love love love Loretta. I had dreams of wearing a dress dripping in fringe and sporting an over-the-top hair-do but I decided to wear this dress, instead. (Funnily enough, I bought this one the same day as I bought the circle dress in my last post.) I've also been setting my hair a little differently so that it doesn't bounce up so much and shows its length a little more - what do you think?
Outfit details: necklace - North Adelaide vintage fashion fair; 1960s day dress - Gilles Street market; belt - gift; stockings - stockingshq.com; shoes - Rubi shoes.

Some of my flickr contacts will have seen this outfit already in a video I posted of myself playing ukulele. Eep!
Seeing as I mentioned Loretta Lynn I thought I'd share a video with you. I started to become a little overwhelmed because she has so many wonderful songs but I decided to go with one of her on the Muppet Show because if anything could make Loretta more enjoyable it has to be Muppets! I'm thinking of doing tomorrow's style icon post on her...
Sometimes I don't get around to replying to the comments on my blog and I feel really bad. If anyone has any questions they want answered (and doesn't want to wait for the day I may remember to keep up with blog comments) you can ask me on formspring, twitter or just email me at andi.b.goode@gmail.com.

I love Loretta Lynne, and that dress!! I like the way your hair is looking, too! I'd say the new way of setting it is working. :)

ReplyDeleteGreat dress. Blue really suits you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a crazy coincidence ~ I googled Loretta Lynn not 10 minutes ago. I don't know if it was the concert but you're definitely back from your sullen state now, aren't you? Another infectious smile and an amAZing outfit as well. The belt is absolute perfection.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I just rented 'Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day'. The women's fashion (30s?) is exquisitely reproduced, and I kept thinking how much you would appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the hair. I've tried to acheive this but failed. And of course your dress is awesome.
