Last night I went to the opening night of Club Burlesk, a new monthly burlesque show presented by Peaches 'n' Gin Burlesque, and decided to wear my Trashy Diva Sweetie dress in the turquoise birds print. I've actually worn this a couple of times before (and I love it though it creases far too easily for my liking) but never taken photos for the blog! Whilst it's not the best dress to go out to sit down in (because of the creasing factor) I did think it was a good one for a burlesque show. It's such a great print and I adore the cut of this dress!
Outfit details: hair flower - ?; dress - Trashy Diva; belt - vintage fair; brooch - etsy; braceletes - op-shop; stockings - Love Kylie; shoes - KMart or Big W.
Oh and my hair is red now! I've been wanting to go red for so very long but I had been dyeing my hair black for a few years and I just couldn't stand the thought of bleaching my hair as much as I'd have to...so I just let it fade/grow out. (As well as a couple of bleach baths just to lighten it that little bit more before I dyed it red.) I'd be more than happy to go through the whole process if anyone wants me to but, to be honest, it was mainly just having patience. Not entirely though.
I clearly don't believe that redheads ought not wear red but I was still surprised at just how much I loved the red flower on my red hair! I'm pretty sure this is nearly the exact same shade of red that my hair was when I first ventured into the world of red hair in...2006.
Oh and I shan't be matching my eyebrows to my hair, either - I love having dark eyebrows too much.
And the show was absolutely amazing. If you are in Adelaide or planning a trip that coincides with one of the performance dates (you can see the dates on the facebook page) and you have $15 to spare then you definitely should go along. I suppose burlesque isn't to everyone's taste but I always have a great time and I love being able to support local talent as well.
Love,
Andi B. Goode

Gorgeous dress and I adore your hair colour! Will have to check out the show.
ReplyDeleteI love your hair! I get the urge to dye my hair so much sometimes it's hard to resist. i had contuinuously dyed hair between the ages 13 and 27, it was such hard work to grow the final highlights out, so i want to stay natural. But when i see things like yours, i am so tempted!
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic!! I love everything from your red hair down to your red shoes!
ReplyDeleteThis color just suits you fantastic...!
ReplyDeleteThat bird print is to die for! (To dye for?)
ReplyDeleteoooh - love the red - from one fake-ranga to another ;-P
ReplyDeleteDid you use box colour or the hairdresser ones?
WOW, you are a stunning red head! It looks amazing! The combinations of Red's with your hair, lipstick and hair flower is such a great picture and just goes to prove that red heads most definitely can wear Red. ;) xx
ReplyDeleteI've wanted one of those dresses for so long! My hair used to be pretty much exactly that shade too. Lovely outfit.

ANDI I LOVE YOUR HAIRRRR. YOU LOOK AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteRed hair looks really great on you!
ReplyDeleteI love your hair red! It's sooo great! That dress looks amazing on you. I hate when things crease easily though, so annoying.

ReplyDeleteThe hair color suits you perfectly...and dare I say, makes you look younger??
ReplyDeleteI had that exact dress and loved the print but sold it due to the crease factor. Way too annoying and I really do not iron anything uless its an emergency.
You look STUNNING! Now that you're a fellow redhead, you'll find that teal blue is the best color on you! Love the dress.
ReplyDeleteANDI IT LOOKS INCREDIBLE! i love that dress and hear you on wrinkle-friendly fabrics (i avoid using an iron at all costs, i'm so lazy that way) but i am TOO DISTRACTED BY YOUR GORGEOUS RED HAIR! love it!
ReplyDeleteThat cut is amazing! Love the dress and the hair!
ReplyDeleteThe hair... brilliant, love it! And it looks so good with that dress.

OMGosh!!! you look amazing with red hair!! love it x
ReplyDeleteLove the red hair! I thought something was different....it's awesome!
ReplyDeleteLove your new hair colour! I bought the lie about red heads not suiting red clothes for way too long - it's now my one of my favourite colours! You look smashing and I think you worked it in combination with the colours in the dress really well.
ReplyDeleteI also find darker eyebrows to be more natural looking - mine are brown, almost black and I get asked all the time if I dye my hair!
*Squeals with excitement!* You're a fellow bottle ginger now, oh my goshhhhh!!! I adore your new shade and cannot wait to see scores more pics of you sporting this completely lovely look.
ReplyDeleteOodles of hugs,
♥ Jessica
