An announcement...

As you may have noticed I've mentioned going on a trip a few times over the past weeks or months. I planned it as a challenge to myself to step outside of my comfort zone this year but it turns out that I overshot and challenged a bit big and, at the last moment, I ended up not going. I don't feel like explaining all the details here but it was the right decision for me at this time and that's the most important thing. And I feel all the better for it, too (though, of course, some residual sadness and that old FOMO most of us experience). Everyone has been very understanding and supportive so far - obviously some people won't understand my decision but I'm not sure I need those people around me or in my life, anyway - which is lovely.

The reason that I am writing this is that I've got some amazing guest posts lined up and some of them mention my travels and I felt it would get confusing or misleading and I don't want that for this blog. I'm going to let the guest posts run through and take a little break whilst they're going over the next couple of weeks or so. And I can sort out some offline things I've been putting off (like clearing out our study...eek.) Hopefully this doesn't sound all mysterious or cryptic but the more I tried to explain as I started to write this, the more convoluted the text became so I left out the finer details for clarity's sake.

Bon voyage, Midge!
{Luckily Midge was going on a much smaller holiday and she's having a grand old time...but she is missing her sister a lot!}

I'll see you all on the other side of my short break and I know you will enjoy the guest posts that are lined up...

Love,
Andi B. Goode

  3. Like you say, this was the right decision for you and that is what is important. These decisions are always the hardest to make and I think you're incredibly brave to make it.

    Enjoy your mini break and take care Andi!

  4. Home is where the heart is or at least where your awesome collection of Barbies are! Don't do too much cleaning! xxx

  5. When it feels right to step away, then it most often is. I've learned that sometimes it really is the best thing to say no to an adventure, in order to stay sane and sound for the others adventures in life.
    Have a nice break, and good luck on cleaning out the study =) Looking forward to seeing the guestposts!

  6. Dear Andi, please don't worry, if you made a choice that you know in heart and soul was right for you in the moment, that is truly all that matters. We all love and support you in whatever you do - or wherever you go, and I hope that your spirits will soon be lifted once more, sweet gal.

  8. I don't know your exact situation of course, but I'm going through a similar thing too with a planned trip that I just think in the end I really shouldn't take. Sometimes you just have to do what you think is best. (FOMO isn't a term I've heard before, but boy I know that feeling.) We'll enjoy the guest posts while you take a break. :)

  9. Oh no, I hope it's not a bad thing that you aren't going? Sometimes staycations are best though, gives you some time to recharge.

  11. I hope everything is okay! I have a long history of planning big things and then not doing them (and always feeling better after I decide to not do that big thing after all) so I think I know what you mean. I hope you enjoy your break... breaks at home are often more relaxing and enjoyable than actual vacations anyhow! :)
