Dolls, dolls, dolls

One of the reasons I stopped blogging so regularly was because, aside from Instagram photos taken with my phone, the only photos I really enjoy taking these days is of my dolls. (And even then, I go through slumps where I can't photograph them, either). I suppose I felt that it may get boring with lots of doll posts but, honestly, I'm getting too old to do things (or not do them) based on whether or not they may please other people. So, without further waffling, here's some photos I took a while back of my vintage Barbie & friends collection(s). The top and second images show all of my vintage era Barbies (just Barbie, not her friends/family) in vintage (and one repro) outfits. The third image is all of my mod era Barbies, the fourth of my Skipper & friends collection and the last of Francie and her friends. I love laying all my dolls out like this on plain, colourful backgrounds. You can see more of my doll photos on Flickr!

  3. I totally understand slumps, but please don't say you're getting too old for things! You're never too old to do anything!

I love your Barbie collection! The bright colors are so wonderful! I love vintage Barbies, and have often wondered why Mattel partnered with a clothing company to produce adult size versions of her clothes! Seriously!

    1. Oh, I meant I'm too old to care what others think! Which I think is the only thing you can ever be too old for. You have to stop caring at some age & just do things for yourself :) but I agree and thank-you :)

And thank-you :D yes, I know!!! They still have many of the fabric patterns, etc., so they could still do it now ;) haha

  4. Gorgeous and I agree, blog about what makes you happy, not what people might want (or what you might think they want) x

    1. Thank-you! :D Yes, definitely! I mean...I still think there needs to be a certain level of interest from readers if your goal as a blogger is to engage other people & there are some things I love that I just don't have the desire to blog about, but stopping myself from sharing the things I *do* want to just got exhausting. Anyway, thank-you :) x

  6. Gorgeous collection of vintage dolls. I'm struck, interestingly, by how much some of the strawberry blonde/redheaded ones resemble my paternal grandma during her teens and twenties (which, perhaps not coincidentally, were in the 1950s and 60s).

  7. I just attended a blogger conference and one of the key messages is that you should write about what your passionate about. If your passionate about dolls I say go for it. Also, I really happen to love toys, like seeing all your dolls ;)

    1. It's very true! And I always have but I've also held back on posting about certain things, or doing it too often, which got exhausting. And thanks - I'm glad to hear it :D
